A BUSINESS owner is over the moon after taking first place in a prestigious industry regional competition.

Rachel Rose Cosmetic Tattoo, based in Chipping Row in South Woodham Ferrers came first in ‘Best for Brows Semi Permanent Makeup’ in the East of England in this year’s UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

Owner Rachel Lovel described seeing her name on the big screen as “an absolute joy” and said she is very proud of the work she has done to get there.

She opened her shop in the town just a year before the Covid pandemic began.

Her shop then had to close temporarily due to not being able to work in such close contact.

But now it is going from strength to strength and she has won the regional award.

Rachel specialises in semi-permanent ombre brows, eyeliner, lip blush, full lip colour, lip filler, vitamin B12 shots and anti-wrinkle injections.

The awards celebrates both large and small businesses.

All entries are screened by the board of the UK Hair and Beauty Awards and a panel of judges.

Successful finalists are invited to the official awards at a VIP red carpet event.

Rachel had her fingers crossed for the awards night and all her dreams came true when she was named as the regional winner.

She said: “It’s an absolute honour to have won this award. It was an incredible night, a complete shock and an absolute joy seeing my name on the big screen.

“I feel so lucky to have such amazing clients. I’ve honestly met so many incredible people since opening my business.

“Opening up the shop only a year before Covid just as I was really taking off was a devastating blow, and as we work in such close contact I was shut for so long.

“I finally feel business is up and running back on track. Winning this award is a huge achievement I’m so grateful for.

“I’m really looking forward to a few new ideas I have coming soon.”
