RUGBY: Chelmsford 0 Colchester 8 CHELMSFORD needed nothing short of a win from this local derby to keep their faint hopes of avoiding relegation alive, but they slumped to yet another defeat at the hands of their near neighbours. With Mersea Island rooted at the foot of the table, Chelmsford now find themselves four points adrift of Norwich, who crucially have a plus points difference. With just four games to go, including an away fixture at Norwich, Chelmsford must look to win every game to have any chance of staying up. Unfortunately on this form they are going to find the going very tough.

RUGBY: Saffron Walden 20 Chelmsford 20 NICK Hankin’s converted try snatched a well deserved draw for Chelmsford during injury time, after the home side took the lead with a hugely disputed penalty try just minutes before. At most Chelmsford should have been penalised, but there was no certainty the Saffron Walden player would have gone on to score a try.
