PARK bosses have revealed repair works on a popular attraction in Maldon have begun.
The town's popular Splash Park was closed last summer due to "unforeseen circumstances" including staff illness and mechanical issues.
It was announced it would remain closed until this summer as a council report revealed £150,000 was needed for repair works, despite repairs being undertaken in 2020/21.
The report revealed without the investment in a new surface the attraction in Promenade Park would be unable to operate during 2022/23 and would remain "closed indefinitely".

Therefore, councillors on Maldon District Council agreed to allow up to £150,000 to be spent on resurfacing the Splash Park.
It has now been revealed these works have started as planned, as the report said the works would begin in the spring..
In a social media post, a spokesman for Maldon Promenade Park said: "We are excited to announce works have started to get our Splash Park and Beach Huts ready for another sun-filled summer.
"Watch this space as we will be posting more updates and details of the works happening in the park ahead of our 2022 season.
"We look forward to sharing more details with you as we get nearer to our 2022 season including when, how and where you can visit and purchase tickets."
