A TIKTOK star who is raising awareness of her non-curable neurological condition with her videos is celebrating a major milestone on the app.

Ella Louise Middleton has a condition called fixed functional Dystonia, caused by an accident she had when she was 11 years old.

The condition affects the brain and attacks nerves and muscles in the body.

Ella, who is now 23 and lives in Tillingham, also gets chronic fatigue, brain fog and muscle spasms.

She was motivated during lockdown last year to create a TikTok account in an effort to raise awareness of her condition.

On why she set up the account, Ella said: “I was going a bit stir crazy as we all were and I thought I would normalise disabilities.

“Being disabled is okay and people with visible or non-visible disabilities shouldn’t be judged by it.”

Being an influencer on the popular app has become a full-time job for the young woman.

And she's now reached a major milestone after hitting one million TikTok followers.

This was made even more special as she attended Tokfest at the weekend.

The event, held in Birmingham, brings together top creators and their fans.

Ella is going on BBC Radio Essex tomorrow to further raise awareness of Dystonia and answer questions about the condition.
