A COUPLE who will be made homeless just two weeks before Christmas have made a last ditch appeal for help to find a new home.

Sharen Fleming and her husband Alan have privately rented a property in London Road, Maldon, for eight years but the couple have been told they must leave the property by next Wednesday.

Mrs Fleming, 60, a full-time carer for Alan, 64, who has dementia, has searched for a new house ever since she learned the news.

Despite searching on Rightmove, visiting estate agents, asking for help from Maldon District Council and an appeal in the Standard, the couple have been unsuccessful.

Sharen said all the couple needed was a one bedroom home which was preferably pet friendly.

The couple are hoping to be able to stay in Maldon or Heybridge.

“Hopefully we can find something before Christmas,” she said.

“We are not really looking forward to Christmas day this year.

“I don’t know what to do next."

Anyone who call help Sharen and Alan should call the Maldon Standard newsroom on 01376334339.
