New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two pubs in the Dengie, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Area inspected by the food safety officer include hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building, and management of food safety.

Two pubs in Bradwell-on-Sea were inspected by an officer from Maldon Council on March 11.

Their new scores have now been revealed.

Kings Head in High Street was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment.

Its standards were found "generally satisfactory" in each area inspected.

The Cricketers in Eastend Road, Bradwell-On-Sea, Southminster, Essex was also given a score of three with its standards also found to be "generally satisfactory".

The new ratings means that of the 66 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings in the Maldon district, 52 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
