BURNHAM Croquet Club's season is now over and it turned out to be a very enjoyable year, after the early rain.
The club competitions were well supported by members and they also entertained three WI’s from Burnham and Southminster.
Burnham also had a friendly but competitive friendly at Purleigh Croquet Club.
Their latest social event was the prizegiving lunch at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.
Town Mayor Ron Pratt awarded trophies as follows:
Golf Croquet Singles - The Paddy Booth Trophy - Peter Finch; Golf Croquet Doubles - Candelabra winners - Michael Peach and Diana Selbie; Red House Croquet Singles - Alan Stewart, Salver winner Peter Finch; Red House Doubles - The Carnival Shield winners John Lilley and Jim Cousins; Bisque Rose Bowl - For most improved player - winner Tim Roberts.
Chairman Jim Cousins thanked members for continuing to support the club and making it very friendly and happy group.
