SOUTHMINSTER Bowls Club opened their green for the summer season.
Pauline Keppel, the club's first lady president, cast the first bowl on to the green.
Members then played three triples games in what turned out to be a dry but chilly afternoon.
Southminster Bowls Club are situated on King George V Memorial Playing Field.
New members are most welcome.
