Heybridge Swifts fell to a 3-2 defeat against visiting Romford.
It was the visitors who opened the scoring on 11 minutes through Abs Seymour in their Ryman One North encounter on Tuesday night.
Neil Richmond pulled Swifts level on the stroke of half-time.
However, Nathan Cooper restored Romford’s lead on 64 minutes.
And they increased their advantage on 75 minutes through and Eddie Hart penalty.
But Swifts weren’t out of the match as Danny Barber reduced the deficit seven minutes later.
Maldon and Tiptree were held to a 1-1 draw at Thurrock.
Jack Stevenson gave the visitors the lead on 27 minutes from the penalty spot.
But Onyemah levelled the scores with the second penalty of the night on 73 minutes.
