OLLIE Berquez wants to extend his stay at Maldon and Tiptree.
And the former professional hopes to speak to manager Terry Spillane soon, to discuss his future at Park Drive.
Berquez, who started his career at Ipswich Town, is keen to stay with the Jammers and believes they can improve on last season’s ninth-place finish in Ryman One North.
“I’d definitely like to stay,” said the former Dagenham & Redbridge, Canvey Island, Stevenage and Woking midfielder.
“Terry has said he’d like that to happen and I’m hoping to have another chat with him very soon, to get everything sorted.
“I really like the club. It suits me. It’s a nice pitch, we’ve got great facilities and it’s a nice set of lads.
“Terry and (chairman) Ed Garty are ambitious people, which appeals to me, and we really hope to be in the mix next season.
“We need to strengthen during the summer, but the nucleus of a successful squad is already in place.
“Last year was a transitional one but I think we can do well next season.”
