HEYBRIDGE Swifts have moved back up to second spot in Ryman League division one north.
Swifts were the only team in the top eight to have a game and they made the most of it with a 3-1 home win over Waltham Abbey at Scraley Road.
The win saw Swifts cut Maldon and Tiptree’s lead at the top of the table to eight points.
Luke Callander opened the scoring in 15th minute and Russell Malton made it 2-0 soon after the break.
Abbey’s Louis Bristow hit the bar before a Taylor Hastings free-kick wrapped up the points with ten minutes left.
Dean Green’s late penalty pulled a goal back for Abbey.
