HEYBRIDGE Swifts have added to their fire-power by signing former Tottenham Hotspur striker James Bunn.

The 34-year-old has joined from Grays Athletic and goes into the squad for Saturday’s Ryman One North trip to Romford.

Bunn spent three years at White Hart Lane, playing for the club’s reserves and also being picked for first-team squads, without making a senior appearance.

After being released, he dropped into non-league football and has played for a host of teams, including Enfield Town, Boreham Wood, Potters Bar, Bishop’s Stortford, East Thurrock United and Harlow.

“James will add even more quality, experience and depth to our squad,” said Swifts boss Mark Hawkes.

“He knows he’s got to force his way into the team, because we’ve already got Michael Cheek and Luke Callander.

“But he’s got real pedigree, an exceptional touch and knows where the goal is.”
