Heybridge Swifts hit five in victory

First published in Local Sport

Heybridge Swifts were in goal-hungry form on their travels.

The visitors went back into second place in theRyman League division one north table following a 5-0 win at Ware.

Swifts took the lead in the 32nd minute when Michael Cheek unleashed a powerful shot that gave the keeper no chance.

Swifts went further ahead when Ben Newson made it 2-0 just before half-time.

Solomon Ofori made it 3-0 on 51 minutes.

Luke Callander extended the lead in the 58th minute when the ball fell loose from a scamble and he found the back of the net.

Tom Holdstock rounded off the day’s scoring on 81 minutes.

But the day ended on a worse note for Ware when a second yellow and a straight red card saw them play out the final minutes with nine men.
