BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent came from two goals down to secure victory at Cray Wanderers.

The visitors secured a 3-2 win at Hayes Lane in their Ryman League division north encounter.

Cray Wanderers took the lead on 14 minutes through Ben Hunt.

Eight minutes later Brightlingsea went further behind when Hunt grabbed his and Cray’s second.

But Regent got back into the game quickly when Jake Clowsley scored to make it 2-1 two minutes later.

And Brightlingsea kept up their momentum when Russell Malton levelled the scores at 2-2 on 28 minutes, with his third goal in three games.

Regent made a bright start after the half-time break to go ahead for the first time in the match.

Malton added his second of the match on 46 minutes to make it 3-2 to Brightlingsea.

And Regent held on to that lead to secure the three points to move into seventh place in the table.

Heybridge Swifts fell to a 2-0 defeat away at Romford.

George Woodward opened the scoring for the home side on 17 minutes to go 1-0 up.

Romford wrapped the game up late on when Talha Zakariya made it 2-0 on 86 minutes.

Witham Town fell to a 3-2 defeat with a late strike from visitors Haringey Borough.

Haringey opened the scoring when Ishmail Kamara scored on 36 minutes.

Witham left it late to level the scores when Ryan Charles made it 1-1 on 76 minutes.

But Haringey looked to have sealed the win when the made it 2-1 through Scott Olumide Durojaiye’s goal on 85 minutes.

Witham, however, didn’t capitulate and Tom Cocklin equalised on 90 minutes to make it 2-2.

Haringey, though, then broke Witham hearts when Rakim Richards made it 3-2 to the visitors in the final minute.

Maldon and Tiptree were left kicking their heels.

Their match against Dereham Town was postponed after the Park Drive pitch was deemed unplayable.

This was the second week in a row that Maldon have been left without a fixture as last week’s home match against AFC Sudbury was also lost to the weather.

Also their away game at Thamesmead Town last Monday was postponed making it three games that the Jammers will have to replay.
