The Tillingham weekend friendly was another special match to celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary.
Twenty-seven bowlers and five guests travelled to Windsor Castle to play a six mixed rink game against the Royal Household Bowls Club.
The bowls green was set in the corner of a very picturesque Castle sports ground, the weather was glorious, and, despite being on the direct flight path for Heathrow Airport, a brilliant afternoon was enjoyed by everyone.
Each club won on three rinks, each rink having a close scoreline, the winners were the Household, narrowly by five shots, 117-112.
An excellent tea was enjoyed by all, and afterwards the Royal Household captain Anne Simmons presented a plaque to the Tillingham captain Terry Lewis.
Tillingham President Alfie Burton presented commemorative glasses to the secretary and captain of the Royal Household.
