MALDON and Tiptree manager Alan Kimble says a positive mindset will be the key to his club cementing their Ryman League status.

The Jammers have lost their last three division one north games – including a deflating 3-0 setback at home to arch rivals Heybridge Swifts on Monday.

It leaves them six points above the relegation trapdoor, heading into this weekend’s match at title-hopefuls Harlow.

But while disappointed by his side’s recent form – having lost six of their last eight games – Kimble wants positive vibes around Park Drive.

“We’re not safe, by any stretch of the imagination,” he said.

“But our destiny is in our own hands and I’d much rather be in our shoes than those of the teams below us.

“We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves and treat each of our last three fixtures like cup finals.

“It’s been a bit of a struggle in recent weeks, trying to find a winning formula.

“Things aren’t going well at the moment.

“But I don’t want any negativity or for anyone to dwell on Monday.

“It’s happened now.

“It’s in the past and I only want positive vibes – from the board and management to players and supporters.

“I need everyone to step up to the plate.

“It’s going to be a big effort and one last push, so everyone must have the right mindset.

“One more win should be enough and the next couple of weeks are massive for our football club.

“They’re three of the biggest games some of my players will play in and I want everyone to show their ambition, to keep this club in the Ryman League.

“I’m sure they’ll do that and I know they’ll do their utmost.”
