Maldon and Tiptree’s first game following the departure of manager Terry Spillane ended in defeat.

Maldon fell to a 2-0 defeat in their Ryman League division one north match at Brentwood Town on Tuesday night.

The Jammers went behind on 12 minutes to an Alberto Pinto own goal.

Sherwin Stanley then doubled the home side’s advantage ten minutes later.

Madon then couldn’t find a way back into the game.

Burnham Ramblers drew 1-1 at Brightlingsea Regent.

Burnham went behind on 44 minutes when the home side’s Jake Holman scored with a looping header over the keeper who was off his line.

But they pulled level in the second half when Stephen Ikumelo scored on 88 minutes to secure a point.

Heybridge Swifts fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of visiting AFC Sudbury.

Swifts went behind on ten minutes when Ryan Hervel scored from an Ayrton Coley cross.

But Neil Richmond levelled the scores on 39 minutes.

However, Sudbury restored their lead on the stroke of half-time when Coley added his second of the night.

Sudbury went further ahead in the second half when James Baker headed home on 54 minutes.

But three minutes later Richmond reduced the deficit after good work from Billy Hunt.

Reece Morgan went close to an equaliser but his powerful 22-yard strike smashed into the crossbar on 75 minutes.

However, Swifts were unable to take a share of the spoils.
