A 10 YEAR old boy’s fundraiser has given customers something very special to look at during their visit to opticians.

Specsavers in Grays hosted an exhibition of artwork by local schoolboy Ashley Palipana, aged 10.

A selection of the Belmont Castle Academy student’s landscape and animal paintings are still being displayed in store and are available for purchase. All proceeds are being donated to Ashley’s chosen cause, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

The talented schoolboy was honoured last year at the British Citizen Youth Awards – in association with Specsavers – for his charitable work.

Niki Kaur, store director at Specsavers in Grays, said: ‘We are in awe of Ashley and all he has accomplished at such a young age. ‘What’s more, we are honoured to be helping support his ongoing charity work by displaying some of his canvases in store. I’m sure they’ll cause quite a stir among customers!’

To view or purchase Ashley’s artwork or to book an eye test, visit the store at Grays Shopping Centre, call 01375 389 870 or visit www.specsavers.co.uk/grays for more information.
