A SOUTH Ockendon depot has won a third gold award for its safety initiatives.

Mobile Mini, a company based in Stockton-on-Tees, which supplies secure portable storage containers and site accommodation units, has been taking part in a scheme to drive up safety standards.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme gets HGV drivers to assess their own delivery vehicles.

The company said it was the third time running that Mobile Mini has achieved a FORS Gold Award – not only a hat-trick for the company, but also a first within its industry.

Keith Silvester, Lifting Operations Manager for Mobile Mini UK, commented: “Safety is at the forefront of everything we do here at Mobile Mini and another FORS Gold Award demonstrates how seriously we take our responsibilities as a fleet operator.

“FORS first came to our attention back in 2012, when we noticed an increase in customers requesting it as a contractual condition when delivering to their sites.  It has since been the catalyst to our advances in vehicle technology and focus on our people and processes."
