THESE dramatic pictures show the moment a man was pulled from underneath a lorry on the A13.

A Dutch HGV was pulled over by Met Police on the London-bound carriageway on the A13 just before the Beckton roundabout in Barking around midday today, after the man was spotted by a driver clinging on for dear life.

The pictures were taken by a driver, who wished to remain anonymous, on his dash board camera after following the truck through the Dartford tunnel before turning onto the A13.

The driver called the police after seeing the man, whose nationality is still unknown, hanging from the back of the moving truck.

He said: “I was following the lorry all the way through the Dartford Tunnel. I didn’t want the man to fall down and get knocked over.

“The police stopped him on the A13 as he headed into London.”

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “One man was found to have been travelling on the outside of the vehicle. He was taken to an east London Police station where he is being dealt with by United Kingdom Border Agency.

“Checks have been made of the route the vehicle is known to have taken to ensure that additional persons had not fallen from the lorry.”
