A school has been shortlisted for a £10,000 award.
The Yellow School, a special needs school based in Alderford Street, Sible Hedingham, is one of just 18 schools to get through to the finals of the Randstad Education Awards.
Hundreds of schools entered the competition which seeks to reward innovation in schools.
Six schools across three categories - primary, secondary and special educational needs - have been chosen to be in the finals.
One winning school will be selected from each shortlist and each winner will receive £10,000 to implement their innovative idea.
The Yellow School is hoping to win the money to put towards an allotment project.
