A heartbroken Maldon family are holding a bedside vigil as a teenager’s life hangs in the balance following an accident in a play area.
 

Popular Plume School sixth former Sam Richards is in hospital in an induced coma after fracturing his skull at a Heybridge play area.


The 16-year-old was flung from a piece of spinning play equipment and hit his head on nearby wooden posts.
