A STEAM train themed weekend was a great success as visitors flocked to a museum in Burnham.

Mangapps Railway Museum held the four-day steam weekend to give people the chance to travel back in time and enjoy the experience of riding on steam powered locomotives.

Owner John Jolly said: β€œIt has been very good, very busy and very enjoyable. The weather has been much better than forecast and we run it as realistically as we can.”

Families had the chance to enjoy the huge collection of railway memorabilia and have train rides on the various engines and locomotives at the restored station.

The privately owned museum features equipment removed from various sites across East Anglia and operates ten steam and diesel locomotives with more than 80 carriages and wagons.

The railway and museum are owned and operated by the Jolly family assisted by a dedicated staff of volunteers.
