Up to 200 jobs could be created should a development consisting of a Waitrose, a Next and a hotel be given the go ahead.
A revised planning application has been submitted to Maldon District Council by Aquila Maldon Limited who hope to develop the Brooks Bros timber yard site in The Blackwater Trading Estate, in The Causeway, Heybridge.
As well as the food store it includes retail units, including a branch of home and clothing store Next, a hotel, vehicle and cycle parking and hard and soft landscaping.
Aquila estimates the development will create 200 jobs should the plans be approved.
