A grandmother feels like a prisoner in her own home after she claims a mystery person keeps burgling her house.
Sheila Dale, 74, who lives alone in her house in Mill Road, Maldon, has had to replace her locks after noticing objects being moved and furniture disappearing.
The situation has become so bad that she phones for a taxi driver to watch over her house while she goes out for a long period of time.
Over the last couple of months, the grandmother-of-three claims a man has picked her locks, stolen part of a dressing table and rifled through her personal correspondence while she was sleeping.
