Campaigners are to help council officers review parking charges.
Community groups and businesses set up the STOP campaign last December to oppose the axeing of free evening and Sunday parking in Maldon.
It succeeded in its goal but has so far not been able to persuade councillors to freeze charges, which were last increased in 2011.
However, the campaign group is helping council officers to review parking rates and design new a structure for 2015.
They are also making sure drivers know that tickets over £4 can be used between the car parks and the smaller car parks are less expensive for those staying longer.
