Parents raise concerns about children's safety using busy Maldon road

Maldon and Burnham Standard: Childminder Tina Sapsed tries to cross the road Childminder Tina Sapsed tries to cross the road

Concerns have been raised that a busy road is no longer manned by a lollipop patrol.

Schoolchildren regularly negotiate Cross Road in Maldon, which is at a busy junction and regularly has cars parked along both sides, blocking the view of the road.

The crossing warden has been moved to Wantz Road, to replace lollipop lady Peggy Kennedy, who retired after 25 years last December.

But her own post near the Cups pub has not been covered.

Parents say the road is dangerous.
