A former Royal Marine has compiled a book detailing the stories of 200 north Essex men who died during the First World War.
Ted Sparrow began collating the stories last year in a bid to make youngsters more aware of the sacrifices made by soldiers from the villages surrounding Colchester on battlefields in Belgium, France and Germany between 1914 and 1918.
They included men from Tollesbury, Tolleshunt Major, Tolleshunt Knights and Tolleshunt D'Arcy.
