Maldon’s very own radio station will be hitting the airwaves for another five years, despite previous funding concerns.
The station, which broadcasts on 94.7 fm from Plume School and Ormiston Rivers Academy, has recently renewed its licence for another five years.
The news was welcomed at this month’s AGM, which was attended by about a third of the station’s 100 volunteers.
Burnham resident Mel Lewis, who has a monthly show with her friend Jane English, said: “We have got funding for the foreseeable future, the immediate future, but
we’re still looking out for more funding."
