More than 30 schools have been closed and Stansted Airport's runway has shut after snowfall across Essex.

Police warned of treacherous driving conditions and said there had been 45 reported crashes since 05:30 GMT.

Here is a list of schools closed in the Maldon District as we know it:

  • Cold Norton Primary School - Cold Norton
  • St Cedds C of E - Bradwell-on-sea
  • St Joseph Catholic Primary - South Woodham Ferrers - Open at 10.30am
  • Tadpoles Nursery - Woodham Walter
  • Woodham Walter C of E - Near Maldon

What a pathetic little has been country we now are. A smattering of snow and we all swoon as if our collective corsets are too tight. If you value your dignity and have an iota of pride I advise antone able to emigrate as far from this spineless country as possible.

I don't think I've seen a story on here yet that you haven't opined over. You missed out the bit about the snow being a tory plot to keep us indoors or something this time. As for your plan to emigrate, I can give you a lift to the airport if you like... No? Ok...
