Firefighters were scrambled to Stansted after a plane was due to make an emergency landing there.

Essex Fire and Rescue was contacted by Stansted Airport Control just before 4pm after a Gulfstream V - a private jet - experienced problems.

Four crews including Stansted's off-road vehicle and Dunmow's Pinzgauer-off road vehicle were called to one of Stansted Airport's runways ahead of the aircraft's estimated time of arrival at 4pm.

Just after 4pm, firefighters received a call confirming the aircraft had landed safely at Northolt Airport, in Uxbridge.
