A MUSICIAN had his 25 year old collection of guitars and amplifiers stolen from his home while he was away.

Joshua Graham, 41, came back to his house on Widford Chase, Chelmsford, on Sunday morning to find his front door lying open and his beloved collection, including 13 guitars, seven amps and a number of other speakers and equipment, gone. It's estimated to be worth around £10,000.

There could be hope though, with Josh hopeful some of the guitars may have been tracked to a pawn shop in Dagenham. He also had a ladder and his bike taken in the robbery.

Josh, who teaches guitar and plays gigs across Chelmsford and Essex, said: “Some of it is replaceable, but a lot is collectable I’ve got over the years. I wouldn’t know where to get them now.

“It’s not about the money, it’s not knowing where to start looking for it all.”

One of the guitars stolen in the haul was a Warwick six string bass, pictured.

He’s hopeful CCTV might help identify who took the equipment as the culprits would’ve had to drive around the Chandlers Roundabout.

He added: “They would’ve had to have had a huge van to carry it all. They even stole a double bass! It’s a team of organised people that are targeting people like me. They know what they’re doing.

“The police dusted all over for prints but there was nothing, they were wearing gloves.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Police are investigating a burglary at an address in Widford Chase, Chelmsford.

“Suspects forced open the front door sometime between 5pm on October 10 and 8am on October 11 and stole live music equipment including amplifiers and speakers.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Chelmsford CID on 101.
