A lord is encouraging motorists whose cars have been damaged by the county’s roads to come forward and bring claims against Essex County Council.

Lord Martyn Rose of Asheldham is taking the council to the civil courts after his claim for compensation was denied - and he wants to help others do the same.

In February, he was driving his son’s Ford Fiesta along Tillingham Road when he claims it was damaged due to a pothole.

His claim for compensation was denied so he decided to take it to the courts.

Now he wants to hear from others who have had similar experiences in order to put pressure on Essex County Council to improve roads, fill potholes and pay out when they are at fault.

Anyone who would like to contact Lord Rose can call 0845 880 1030.
