A QUIZ will be taking place at Maldon Town Hall next month to raise funds for the restoration of an historic boat.
Steam tug ‘Brent’ was made during the Second World War, when some steam tugs were used by the Ministry of War Transport including in the D-Day landings and for naval work in ports around the country and abroad.
She has been a mainstay on the River Blackwater since 1971 and celebrated her 75th anniversary on the water in 2021.
Tickets for the upcoming quiz cost £7.50 per person and attendees are asked to bring their own drinks and nibbles.
To book a place or table, ring Janet on 01621 855058, email info@steamtugbrent.org or text 07889667715.
Teams of six are expected although organisers will try to fit people in where they can.
The quiz is on March 1. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Mark Heard, who serves as quizmaster on the evening, said: “The evening is meant to be light and entertaining, shouldn’t be any questions that are too hard or too easy. It’s just a question of if you can you remember it.
“I hope as many people can attend as possible to highlight the good work that the Brent Trust continues to do”.
