POPULAR Colchester born DJs will be performing at a dance music event ahead of the headliners.

Colchester DJ duo LWRNCE and CONNMAC will be performing ahead of Artful Dodger at the Classic Ibiza Orchestra in Maldon Promenade Park.

Lawrence Riches, 27, and Connor Mcsweeney, 26, were both born in Colchester and started their careers in music just four years ago.

After a trip to Ibiza, they were inspired to pursue their career professionally.

The self-taught music producers have now had many gigs in London and Essex as well as in Ibiza.

They are known for DJing in venues including Qube and Hudson in Colchester.

Their music has received more than 200,000 streams on all major streaming platforms and has been played on BBC introducing and Kiss FM.

They have received support from some of the industries biggest DJs such as Jamie Jones.

They said: “It’s great to be asked to play for such an established event. They do these shows up and down the UK so to be selected to play before Orchestra and Artful Dodger, shows they do care about keeping the talent local.”

The DJs will be on stage from 5pm to 6.30pm before Artful Dodger and the Classic Ibiza Orchestra.

The event is for people aged over 18 only.

The event is at Promenade Park on Friday, June 9, with gates opening at 5pm.
