HOUSE prices continued to rise in the Maldon district in November, bucking the national trend.
Average prices rose by two per cent compared to a 0.6 per cent increase in the East of England, and a 0.3 per cent fall for the UK.
The average Maldon house price in November was £430,364, Land Registry figures show – a 2.5 per cent increase on October.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in the district rose by a whopping £47,000 – putting the area 14th among the East of England’s 45 local authorities with figures.
The average UK house price slipped to £295,000 in November 2022, from the previous month's record high of £296,000.
First-time buyers in the Maldon district spent an average of £ £326,000 on their new homes – £37,000 more than a year ago, and £68,000 more than in November 2017.
Owners of terraced houses saw the biggest rise in property prices in Maldon in November – up 2.1 per cent, to £291,665 on average.
Detached houses were up 1.9 per cent to £634,114 on average, semi-detached homes rose to £390,768 and flats rose to £180,698.
