Barber told the club website: “I’m ecstatic and proud to become the Chairman of Maldon and Tiptree FC.

"I am looking forward to taking on this journey working alongside my fellow board members, the management, players, volunteers and the fans.”

Barber takes over as chairman from Jerry Carter, who will remain as an active board member at Maldon.

Carter told the Maldon and Tiptree website said: “I have only been with the club a short while and in that time we have established the requirement for a restructure if we are to maximise the clubs potential.

"I would like to thank all of the volunteers that have supported me during my time as the Chairman and I’m confident they will also be very supportive of this restructure.

"I look forward to working alongside Daniel and Mitchell as we continue to progress the clubs development.”
