DRIVERS have been warned of an upcoming road closure in a village for cable works.

Lea Lane in Little Braxted is set to close later this month.

A spokesman said: “The closure is scheduled to commence on October 31 for one day, or where stated on a valid permit.

“The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and or displayed on one.network."

The road will be closing from a point approximately 60m north west of its junction with Old School Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.

The spokesman added: “The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

“An alternative route is available via Kelvedon Road, Beacon Hill, Mountains Road, Colchester Road, Maldon Road, Braxted Park Road and vice versa with access only into Lea Lane and Kelvedon Road.

“The order will come into effect on October 13 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.”
