Burnham On Crouch Rugby Club took mini and midi squads to Chelmsford festival on Sunday. Whilst the weather was not brilliant attendance was high, as was the standard of rugby played. John Newcombe, Under 7s coach took a squad of 10 who all performed well against tough opposition. They were grouped with teams from High Wycombe, Upminster and Luton. They lost 2 games by 1 try each time and drew the third against Upminster. No trophies this time but everyone enjoyed the day. The squad consisted of Emily Indigo- Carter, Kerensa Newcombe, Dylan Collingbourne, Rory Lee, Toby Warren, Oliver Wylie, Oscar Cowell, Newman Peel, Jayden Pitt, Reece Walters. Kerensa Newcombe also played for Thames Under 8s in the semi final as they were short of players and went on to score a try for them.

Niall Hornett took a squad of under 8s consisting of Max Manders, Arthur Bush, Ben Barr, Callum Sexton, Conall, Hornett, Giles Lonergan, Luke Hutson, Matthew Braybrook and Owen Griffiiths. Again they were placed in a pool with tough opposition; Luton, Brentwood A and Upminster A. Despite courageous play they were unable to make it through to the second round, narrowly losing to all three opposing sides.

Mark Aydon took an under 9s squad consisting of Ewan Allen, Joshua Aydon, Alfie Brewster, Luke Cowell, Thomas Dillon, Christian Foley, Bradley Gardner, Keeaun Jones, Charlie MeCoy, Oliver Mills, Archie Nicholson, Harry North, Jamie Pugh, Joe Sadler, Chay Taylor, Rhys Williams, Elliot Yeaman. Although they came very close to making it to the next round it just wasn't to be.

Paul Patarou took his under 10s squad consisting of Charlie Knight, Cian Gibson-Davis, George Wood, Harry Bush, Jack Marron, James Henderson, Joe Barr, Louis Patarou, Max Newcombe, Sam Davis-Knott, Taylor Donaldson, Max Hinkins and Flynn Davies. They were in a pool with Chelmsford A, Upminster, and Thames. After enthusiastic and determined play in the pool games they went on to beat Thames in the plate final 40-10. The boys were extremely pleased to be able to add another piece of silverware to the clubs ever expanding youth trophy cabinet.

Rob Barr took his under 11s squad but they were again unable to beat fierce opposition. The squad consists of Alfie Barr, David Bevan, Harry Dye, George Marron, Henri Skeens, Stirling Taylor, Liam Williams, Joshua Aldridge, Samuel Barr, Jake Braybrook, Harry Hinkins, Brandon Hunt, Alex Melhuish, and Charlie Wood.
