A CLUB in Maldon has collected more than £800 for people in need in Ukraine over just two days.

Members of Maldon Rotary Club and their friends completed two days of collections in Maldon High Street, raising £861 for the people of Ukraine.

A spokesman for the club said: "Our members were overwhelmed by the generosity of people in donating to this desperately needed cause, and send their heartfelt thanks."

The fundraisers will be back outside M and Co in the high street this week, which has generously allowed them to stand outside the shop to collect donations.

Residents interested in donating to the cause can find the club members on Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26, from 10 am.

The spokesman added: "Please give generously. Thank you."
