A FILMMAKER from Maldon set himself a challenge to lose as much weight as he could in a week just by “having fun”.
Ryan Grant is a videographer who filmed himself taking on the new challenge when he decided to lose his lockdown weight.
He said: “People are noticing, I’m noticing ... and now technology.
“They’ve all come to the same conclusion that I’ve put on a bit of weight.”
That is when he decided to make a change, but not by starting at the gym.
“I really struggle with doing any type of boring exercise,” said Ryan.
“Running machines, lifting weights, swimming lengths, anything that’s some sort of robotic repetition – I really struggle to keep motivated.”
The 30-year-old set himself the challenge to lose weight, but only by having fun, for his health and also to prove fun doesn’t only belong to the “younger lot”.
His week-long challenge kicked off with mountain biking where he burned around 1,000 calories.
Despite his job preventing him from working out during the day, Ryan still managed to take part in activities during the evening.
This included roller skating, ice skating, waveboarding, canoeing, and many other unique ways to exercise.
After a week Ryan lost almost 4kg.
