CHINESE pupils flew to England to spend a week with children at a Maldon school.
Wentworth Primary School welcomed 12 pupils from China on Monday, who are hosting them for a week so they can experience British school life with Year Five pupils.
The Chinese pupils joined in with maths, English and humanities, as well as cooking lessons, PE and swimming classes.
They will also be spending Saturday with host families from Wentworth school.
The Chinese pupils all come from schools which specialise in maths. On Friday, they will compete in a friendly Essex/China maths competition at the school with some of the Essex Year Six maths finalists. They will share and compare maths strategies to get the best results.
This is the fifth year that students from China have come to visit Wentworth Primary School.
It is a week that all the pupils look forward to as they can then put their Chinese language skills to the test.
Pupils in year one to year six learn Mandarin with weekly language and cultural lessons with a native Chinese teacher.
