AN APPRENTICESHIP event is due to take place in Burnham on Wednesday.

The next Burnham-on-Crouch Chamber of Commerce ‘Apprenticeship’ Event, open to members and non-members alike takes place at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham, on January 31, from 7.30pm - 9pm.

This will be a free event and a great opportunity to network and find out more about apprenticeships.

There will be an exhibition of apprenticeship providers and chamber of commerce businesses, with guest speeches from Amanda Drew, Head of Apprenticeships at Colchester Institute, who will provide useful information on recruiting apprentices, the benefits, and any potential costs and/or funding available whilst Misha Rosenthall from MR Books (who was a one man band) will talk about her positive experience of employing an apprentice since 2016.

Free parking and light refreshments will be available and if you are a member of the chamber there is also an opportunity for a free stand.

Adele Bovingdon, chairman of the chamber of commerce, said: “This event is an excellent opportunity to find out how recruiting an apprentice can fill any skills gaps in your business in a positive and cost effective way as well as allowing you to nurture and grow your own talent, moulding them to suit your own working processes.

“This event is also an opportunity for local business to showcase their business, share experience and network with others.”
