A WOODHAM Walter school have won a regional reading competition in Billericay.
Woodham Walter Primary entered, and won, the Reading Gladiators inter-school challenge last month.
The school attended the competition in Brightside Primary School, Billericay, along with seven others in the heart of Essex.
The challenge was set up by Langford based ‘Just Imagine’ and saw eight schools compete in three challenges based on a set of eight books they have read and evaluated throughout the year.
There were quiz questions as well as artistic and dramatic events to test the children’s reading skills.
The competition was won by the Year 4 class from Woodham Walter Primary.
The event was the third of eight Reading Gladiator events happening across Essex throughout the summer.
