MORE young people are finding work in the Maldon District.
Unemployment figures amongst 18 to 24-year-olds in the have fallen according to the latest report from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
Stuart Brown, of the DWP, explained: “We have seen a decrease in the number of young people out of work. That is down 15 to a total of 70. The overall number of people out of work is down to 315, which is a 1.6% decrease from the previous month.
“It is looking positive. Plenty of employers are looking to recruit locally and I think the trend continues to be a positive one. More and more people are getting into work.
“We tend to be in the top three regions for employment rates nationally, and these figures continue to support the work that we are doing.”
