YOUNGSTERS were taught the art of Chinese lion dancing in a special workshop.
Pupils at Wentworth Primary School in Maldon were shown how to use the dragon themed props and play accompanying music which included drums and symbols.
The workshop was held in coincide with a school project on Ancient China which pupils in Year 4 are currently learning about.
Teacher Aimee Spalding said the half day workshop had been enjoyed by all the children.
She said: “They were told where lion dancing originated from and they got to have a go.
“Some children where on music with a big drum and the other children had a chance to try the lion dancing.
“It was brilliant and all the children absolutely loved it.
“It was very loud and colourful.”
