A MAN is in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Maldon this morning.

The man, in his 40s from Maldon, was stabbed after an altercation in the car park of the Warwick Arms pub in High Street at around 2.15am.

Police were called to reports a man had been stabbed in the neck.

The scene is currently cordoned off for investigations and the pub will remain closed until these investigations have been completed.

Glenn Freeman, 26, of King Georges Place, Maldon, has been charged with wounding with intent.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses to the stabbing or events leading up to the assault to contact them at Chelmsford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
