A HISTORIAN’S ashes were fired from a rocket out across the Heybridge Basin in a celebration of his life.
Clive McPherson, known as Mac, died on September 12 aged 65 after a short battle with cancer.
Mr McPherson, a former marine, was the resident historian at the Combined Military Services Museum in Maldon.
A moving ceremony on Monday saw a Royal Marine bugler, Highland piper and music played and a eulogy before his ashes were fired from rockets over the sea wall at high tide.
