Police are urging residents to log their possessions on Immobilise- the UK National Property Register
Essex Police want to alert businesses and homeowners to a service keeping track of their belongings.
The online service allows members to list their possessions by unique reference numbers to identify them.
If the belongings are stolen, the owner can immediately record them as missing, letting others on the site know it has been stolen.
