Southminster is among the train stations affected by major disruption today.

Greater Anglia has reported disruption to all routes to and from London Liverpool Street owing to "infrastructure problems at a number of different locations".

West Anglia route services serving Stansted Airport, Bishop’s Stortford and Cambridge are also being disrupted because of earlier overhead wire problems on the London bound line between Stansted Airport and Sawbridgeworth.

Trains on these routes will be altered, or cancelled at short notice. A tree obstructing the overhead wires has now been removed and the line re opened from 6.50am.

A signalling and points fault at London Liverpool Street is preventing access to and from platform 7 to 10. Train services on all Abellio Greater Anglia routes into London are affected by this problem.

A signalling fault in the Romford area caused by electrical storm damage is causing disruption to all trains through the location affected.

The Romford to Upminster service is suspended until further notice. Tfl local buses are passing valid ticket holders on reasonable routes.

A signalling problem at Ingatestone affecting the Level Crossing is affecting mainline train services to and from Colchester, Clacton on Sea, Ipswich, Norwich, Harwich Town and Braintree.

Customers holding Advance Purchase tickets may travel on alternative trains, if your designated service is cancelled.

First Capital Connect, TFL buses, London Undergound and c2c will accept valid Abellio Greater Anglia tickets on any reasonable routes.

A statement on the Greater Anglia website reads: "We are sorry that your travel plans will be severely affected by this widespread disruption and thank you for your patience, whilst Network Rail engineers resolve the problems."
